WHAT IS “AFTERSCHOOL”?
In the year 2022/2023 Kino Bize, in cooperation with the film studio “Apagon AS” and the EEA and Norway Grants, offers an extensive programme of free film education, inviting teachers and pupils to familiarise themselves with the world of film in theory and practice
"Kino Bize Afterschool" is made of:
ONLINE LECTURES FOR TEACHERS
Free lectures in two parts (6 lectures each) for teachers on film language and film history.
DIGITAL FREE-ACCESS CATALOGUE
A digital catalogue for teachers and pupils. It includes 34 Latvian films and related methodological materials for creative learning in age groups from grades 1 to 12.
FILMMAKING WORKSHOPS

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
The moving image has become one of the main communication modes of the century, so for both young people and adults, it is of utmost importance to fully understand it. Film influences how viewers perceive themselves and others, gain ideas about history and think about events happening in the world. There are more films made than ever before and we are sure that it is possible to integrate them creatively and meaningfully into the learning process.
Films can help illustrate different topics in classes, talk about personalities and analyse relationships. you can think about cinema in terms of visual metaphors, art styles and technical possibilities. teachers play a key role in this process

Tāpēc līdzās pedagogu lekcijām piedāvāsim arī brīvi pieejamu katalogu ar mācību palīgmateriāliem, kas ļaus skolotājiem izmantot kino kā vērtīgu mācību rīku.
