Viktors Freibergs. Viktora otrā grāmata.

€ 21.00

In the introduction, film scholar Dita Rietuma describes the book: '31 signs in 248 films. This is also the way you could describe Viktors Freibergs' second book, whose texts are centred on certain concepts, phenomena, codes of a kind of cinematic language, which are reflected from film to film. Water, city, silence, mirror, labyrinth, outsider, fire, stairs, cinema about cinema and others. There are 31 of them in total, Viktor Freiberg has seen these signs in at least 248 films, and in each of these films the concept or phenomenon has its own context and meaning."

Viktors Freibergs brings to the Latvian spiritual space his vision of cinema as art, of films as an unlimited and unfathomable field of meaning and inspiration. The genre of the book can be described as an essayistic text, but at the end of the book there is an alphabetical compilation of all the films mentioned in the text, allowing the reader to use this selection of films as a guide, enriching their experience and learning about the classics of world cinema. The book by Viktors Freibergs is published under the auspices of the Kino Raksti portal and the Ekrāns association. The team behind the book includes artist Aleksandrs Busse, editor Kristīne Matīsa, photographer Agnese Zeltiņa.
